Aprameya Gulati is a Grade 11 at The Doon School, where he excels in Mathematics, Psychology, Economics, Physics, Spanish B, and English Language and Literature. His primary interest lies in understanding human behavior and social systems, owing to which he ardently participates in coursework beyond his curriculum. His keen interest in understanding the mechanisms of neuroscience motivated him to pursue the Psychology of Memory program at Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth and the Psychology course at Columbia University's Academic Year Immersion Program.
Aprameya possesses an exceptional dedication to service initiatives. His participation in his school's social service program is exemplary of his commitment. During his service, he primarily contributed to educational outreach and infrastructural development in underserved villages. This exposed him to grassroots realities of educational inequality and catalyzed his recognition that academic resources must extend themselves to address the isolation and social exclusion experienced by students in the underserved communities. Being psychologically informed, he understood the intersection of mental health and social connection, propelling him to found The TIES Network.
Through the initiative, he aims to create immediate pathways for connection and support among students who have previously been excluded, as well as augment spaces where inclusion, empathy, and support can be sustainably established for the long term. In his free time, he enjoys writing, debating, and quizzing.
